Gay beaches are a popular vacation destination, and not just for LGBT travellers. And even when there are beaches that welcome LGBT visitors around the world, several are at the top, either because of their resounding beauty, their unique character, or the people they attract.
La Playita used to be more private and a predominately nude beach years ago. With development expanding in the area, and changing demographics, La Playita is no longer clothing optional, but remains popular with gay men.
Manuel Antonio continues to be Costa Rica’s most popular beach destination for the gay traveler. Costa Rica is very popular with LGBT couples, and they tend to travel the whole country; solo gay travellers looking to meet other travellers and local Costa Ricans tend to split their time between San Jose and Manuel Antonio.
